The Urban Research Institute (URI) aims to be a leading academic, influential independent research organization dedicated to advancing, applying and facilitating high standards of social and behavioral research practice on Cities, Housing and Urban challenges.
- MISSION STATEMENT
URI is committed to enhancing social and behavioral research support to scholars and public agencies for research, service, and educational activities. The institute conducts original survey research, qualitative data collection, and data analysis that inform scholarship and public policy decision-making. Objective research and consultation are provided through:
- PARTNERSHIP: Establishing and developing research relationships, with external public policy makers, researchers, and not-for-profit agencies locally, nationally, and internationally; and
- RESEARCH EXCELLENCE: Designing and providing quality research by adhering to the highest ethical standards and professional best practices.
- GOVERNING BOARD
The function of the Governing Board of the URI is to oversee the management and operations of the institute. Board members provide their expertise and insights to the various URI programs and initiatives, making sure that all efforts maintain the integrity of the URI and its vision and mission.
